20.12.2011 - Message from Carlo:

Dear friends,

It’s nearly the end of December and snow hasn’t shown up yet, even though it’s cold and chilly. Where has time gone? A year passed so quickly! It has been a busy year for me in person with a study at the university, working at school and repairing bikes, but it has also been for the Dead Guitars. The new White rose transmission was just brought out and immediately the live album followed up. I saw Frank and Rob of White Rose Transmission working so hard on the project and they put so much love and effort into these albums, I sometimes felt I just needed to sing and felt somehow guilty. Guilty by hanging out on the sofa, while these guys did lots of work and Frank did all the producing & mixing stuff. But what else could a singer be doing? Maybe I could have served food and bring the cold drinks into the studio? Having one month to recover , we started to work on “Stranger” Without having any breaks Ralf produced and mixed the whole “Stranger” album in a couple of months. What came out of it is on you to decide whether it’s good or not. I love it! When that one got released we did a lot of interviews and a high amount of interest from all over the world. To be honest, I didn’t even thought it would be that many! Can I say that I am proud and happy to be part of all this? After releasing the album we did an acoustic living room tour. We met fantastic and wonderful people, who gave us food and a warm bed to sleep. The intensity was unbelievable. It still makes me smile when I think of it. After that tour we played several shows and finished off with supporting The Mission again. With the new members Peter Körfer and Hermann Eugster we are lucky we were able to replace Sven Olaf and Patrick Schmitz. Not that they are replaceable as human beings anyway, but the band stayed tight and close again. I know lots of bands who gone down the drain after members got replaced. We didn’t, but raised up out of the ashes. Our close friend Silke and Petra helped us out on tour, managed us and kept all the websites up to date. Crysin our close friend and Label partner never lost the faith when it got difficult to put us through all the commercial magazines and radio world in a fucked up commercial music world. It was a busy year for all of us, but a wonderful year too. Willemijn and I also got married the same year and we had a wonderful celebration with all of our friends invited. I noticed how many good friends we have and how much love surrounds us. I’m a rich man, yes I am! I really want wish all of you a wonderful and magical time with your friends and families, children and grandchildren We will start to write new material in January, let’s wait and see where we next year will be! Stay patient, stay close and in touch...
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the warm messages, for visiting our concerts, for buying our cd’s, for your friendship and at last for the love you share with us and our music.

2011 has been a rather eventful year for us "deadies"...with the release of "stranger", getting a new rhythm section together with hermann eugster and peter koerfer plus the following shows and the short but sweet tour with "the mission"...

if it's been a bit quiet lately it's because we've taken a short break, but as of now we're keeping busy writing new songs for the next album (4th) ....
from mid january we'll be getting together in our "deadrose" studio to start playing around with the new ideas & possibly even begin to record them...
we have many plans for 2012...so keep your eyes & ears open...we'll be keeping you informed...

at this point just before the the seasonal celebrations, where in most cases families get together, we'd like to send out our most sincere thanks to you and the evergrowing "deadies family" for all your kind support and encouragement...wishing you and your loved ones a smashing time and a really great new year 2012...a time where we may reflect on this past year (for me personally it just passed by incredibly fast)

we'll be back very soon to let you know what's happening in our neck of the woods...

Hello peeps...
again it's been rather a long time since we've sent out a newsletter.....it's taken so long because we've all been very busy doing this and that, but mainly working on the forthcoming (3rd) deadies album.......which basically is in the can and has been finished for a couple of weeks now....... except that we are waiting in great anticipation on a couple of tracks from some very special guests from various corners of the world.......they should arrive by the end of november 2010........

we 're bursting to let you know who'll be contributing but would rather wait until the tracks have physically arrived and placed into the songs.......so bear with with us for a while.........we promise to let you know asap.......
after that its down to mixing and mastering and hopefully a release before summer 2011...........

....until then we are looking forward to crawling out of the studio and back on stage in our home town.......

Eroded by Carlo


Since a few days Carlo van Putten`s book "Eroded" is out and you can buy it via Schaffi`s Shop. The book includes Carlo`s song lyrics, poems and some prose.

Last Sunday Carlo, Pete & Ralf completed their "Live In The Living Room" Tour. Even though they played some Dead Guitars songs, it was not a Dead Guitars tour. They also played Carlo`s The Convent and White Rose Transmission songs.

Tour update: It´s mentioned on several ticket shop and venue web sites that Wayne Hussey will join Dead Guitars on a couple of shows, but unfortunately this won`t happen! Apologise to anyone that was looking forward to seeing Wayne.
